My name is Jalen Perera-Satgunem, and I founded JPS Hockey out of a pure passion for hockey operations, scouting, and player development.
I am currently completing a degree in Communications and Media Studies at York University while pursuing a long-term goal of working in professional hockey management.
The scouting, detailed analysis’, and recaps, will all be done by myself. I will always value quality over quantity, especially when it comes to hockey development.
My love for the game of hockey has completely fueled this working project. Everything I put out for JPS Hockey comes from a place of passion, excitement, and enjoyment. I truly hope you enjoy my work.

JPS conveniently represents my initials but also represents the philosophy behind the project: Junior Player Scouting. Tracking players’ progression as they develop from junior hockey to the professional level and scouting junior hockey players thoroughly with research and live viewings
What JPS Hockey Isn't
Prospect evaluation is by no means certain. Players develop at different rates and just minor inconveniences can change the evaluation from a correct one to a wrong one. We are not trying to predict the future with certainty.
The Goal
Through consistent observations, JPS Hockey aims to identify the skills, tendencies, habits, and developmental changes that shape a player's trajectory, while also learning more about the scouting process along the way. The goal isn't to predict who will become an NHL player, it's to understand why they have a chance.
