This is the 9th Annual Junior Hockey Placement Showcase (JPS). JPS is among the oldest running hockey showcases in the Western United States.
Who should attend: JPS is a great opportunity to get noticed for your skills and to further your career in hockey. In attendance will be 50-60 Hockey Coaches/General Managers representing Jr. A (US and Canada), Prep Schools, Midget AA/AAA and Colleges (Division I and Division III). The exposure from this showcase gives the participants a great experience along with excellent opportunities to be seen by numerous hockey coaches and scouts.
With exposure from JPS along with our Showcase Directors' contacts a large majority of the participants have been offered positions in a higher level of hockey. According to Lantz, attending JPS is like attending over 60 individual hockey camps, thus saving money and yet maximizing player's exposure!
You and your parents will gain information and knowledge about the various hockey programs in attendance through our seminars along with information regarding NCAA rules, clearing house and recruitment for your player. Coaches, GM's, and Scouts in attendance will participate in the seminars and will be able to give you information on their programs along with answers to any questions you may have. NEW this Year, JPS will present Mike Margolies, a Sport Psychology Consultant & world renowned author. He is set to speak at the "Mini-Seminars". Also, Carl Poole, professional Equipment Manager (Denver Cutthroats, CHL) who will speak on the importance of using the proper hockey gear.
JPS will provide specialized/individual goalie instruction.
Scott Johnson, University of Alaska/Anchorage Goalie Coach will be in-charge of this year's Goalie Sessions. Coach Johnson is also Alaska's USAH Goalie Coach-in-Chief and brings a wealth of information and skill to the Showcase.
This is the 4th year we have teamed up with Planet Hockey to select players for a bantam, midget and junior teams to participate in training and games in Europe. |
Testimonials:
George Gwozdecky (Former) Head Hockey Coach, University of Denver
“At the University of Denver we are proud that 33% of our hockey team is comprised of players from the state of Colorado and therefore I am supportive of any opportunity that gives young hockey players from our state a chance to develop and received exposure to the Junior A hockey coaches as well as college hockey programs".
Kevin Hartzell (Former) GM/Head Hockey Coach Sioux Falls Stampede USHL
"JPS is one of the top exposure camps for juniors, prep, midget and college scouts. We will enjoy coming out and feel it is very worthwhile.”
Dean Blais Head Coach University of Nebraska, Omaha, NE
National Champion Div-I UND, Gold Medal USA Jr. 09’
“We are looking forward to scouting players out of the JPS showcase. The competition is excellent and there will be several scouts/coaches from all the junior A and college levels.”
Joe Bonnett Assistant Coach Colorado College
"JPS and it's Directors are motivated to develop and expose local and non-traditional hockey players to Midget AAA, Junior and NCAA Hockey. This camp is the first step.”
Luke Salazar (Former) Division I player - Denver University
“Brad Buetow, (JPS Consultant) who was my midget coach, along with participating in JPS was very instrumental in getting me seen and having Denver University (Division I) offer me a spot on their team.”
John Marks Head Coach/GM Fargo Force (USHL)
“Excellent Showcase! JPS exposure showcase really puts kids on the radar for future hockey opportunities. I will be attending it along with Other USHL coaches.”
Tim Kihle - Parent (N. Dakota)
“I just wanted to pass along to you my sincere thanks for putting on a showcase that was all that it said it would be. My son, Zach, spoke with several different organizations. My son went to other showcases and they didn’t even compare to the one you just ran. The talent wasn’t close nor was the presence of all the different organizations. Zach got on the “radar” of several teams and that’s all we could ask for - a showcase that actually did what it promoted. Thanks again for a well run event and I look forward to Zach attending in the future.”
Pete Sauer, (Former) Head Coach/GM Aberdeen Wings (NAHL)
“Our organization has attended JPS for several years and will continue to. We have recruited many players from JPS, along with several other NAHL teams.
Scott Allegrini - Valencia Flyers Junior A Hockey - WSHL
The JPS showcase is a great resource for our team in finding prospective players. It's high level of talent and competition, well organized format and the large number of attendees makes it one of the better showcases we attend each year.
Jeff Heimel Head Coach/GM Great Falls Americans – AWHL
JPS is a must stop for any player looking to advance their hockey career. The information provided at the various seminars is second to none and the camp is heavily scouted by teams at all levels. What a great experience!
